For those who have a large number of applications, files, folders and drives, it can be difficult to organize them or browse them quickly. For users who need to find a particular file or folder quickly, searching them can be a tedious and slow process. DiskFinder allows users to catalog an entire drive within the application, so it can be browsed and searched instantly, without any loading or search times.
A simple and easy-to-use interface, with clearly displayed results
The application is very easy and straightforward to use, it requires only a few minutes to index and catalog an entire drive. Users simply select which drive they want to organize and it does the rest, the results can be saved as well, so the application doesn't have to scan every time it is used.
Since the application creates an index of each drive it scans, searches are near instantaneous and, unlike a regular Windows search, there is no awkward load time. The application also creates a separate area within the window for searches to take place, meaning users do not lose what they are looking at, unlike a regular search.
A few useful features to help users, yet room for a few additional features
DiskFinder provides some additional features that improve how it operates. Users can employ filters to refine their searches and browsing of a scanned drive. The search option also features two text fields, so users can search for two separate keywords or phrases at the same time, rather than trying to make one long string of words.
The biggest limitation of the application is that it lacks the ability to access anything you have located, the application tries to compensate for this in various ways. Since the application displays a copy of the drive, it lacks the actual files, what can be copied though is the file location and the application contains a shortcut to Windows Explorer. Users can paste the file location into Explorer, which is the fastest way the application provides to access a discovered file. The ability to double click and open Windows Explorer to the correct location would be a step up from this.
A useful, simple application that solves a real problem for users with a lot of folders and files
All in all, the application is well executed and extremely useful for users who have trouble finding a specific file on their drive. The index and catalog system is a much better searching tool than the standard Windows search feature, and, while it could be improved, it remains a better way to explore a drive. To conclude, Disk Finder is a good choice with few, if any real drawbacks.

DiskFinder Full Product Key For PC (2022)

DiskFinder is an application which solves one of the biggest problems users have: How to find specific files on their computer without opening any applications and without the need to browse through the Windows Explorer to find the files.
It does that by providing you with a complete index of all the folders and files on your hard disk drive, in a very simple and practical way. This means that files can be found in just a couple of clicks, no matter where they are located. The entire Windows hard disk drive can be indexed in just a couple of minutes.
It is a useful application that you can use to organize and find specific files on your hard drive. File, folder, and drive indexes can be viewed and searched quickly, without having to load any files or folders. You can also search and browse directly through the indexes by clicking on the files you want to find.
DiskFinder will index and organize more than one hard drive, and will work for any drive where your Windows operating system is installed. This includes FAT, NTFS, and HPFS partitions. It can be useful, for instance, for searching through a specific drive (for example the documents drive) for files which contain the word “documents” anywhere in them.

It works by downloading the entire drive into a single folder. Once the scan is complete, a two column grid, that presents all the found files, will be displayed, so you can quickly browse the index and select any file you are interested in.

I tried using DirFinder. I found it to be a little confusing because once it was running, I had to close all my programs and log out. Once I logged back in, I had to launch it again.
I also found it to be a little buggy. Sometimes, it would say “Error” next to a drive for no apparent reason. It was buggy enough for me that I did not give it another try.
If I had to do it again, I would just use Windows search. Not only is it fast and easy to use, but also has the added functionality of being able to search inside each file.

Windows Explorer extension

Windows Explorer extension

While DiskFinder works perfectly fine with Windows Explorer, the “Custom Shortcut to Windows Explorer” extension, provided by the developer, fails to function properly. It does not copy the file location to the Windows Explorer shortcut, but rather selects the default action instead.
As the author, only a few hours after releasing the application, noted the following workaround:

If you want to see the path of a file of your choice, just right click on it and copy the location. The program is now open for you to paste it in the new shortcut in this window.

It would be amazing if the developer released a Windows Explorer extension that functioned properly.

One confusing bug
In a few occasions, the application may fail to index a drive and folders. In these cases, the search feature shows that the drive cannot be searched, however users can still browse the drive normally.
Also, if a folder which was previously indexed is deleted, the application does not seem to track the deleted folder. This can result in users searching the drive for non-existent files.

This is a user’s review and experience with the software. It is not affiliated with the developer of the software in any way, and does not represent the experience of the developer.
